Coos County Airport District Commissioners Joe Benetti  (Position #2) and Dr. Brent Pahls (Position #4) were recently sworn in after being re-elected to their respective positions on the board. Commissioner Benetti was also appointed vice-chair by a vote of the commissioners. Dr. Jason Bell was elected to serve as the chairman of the board. There are five members serving on the special district  board of commissioners. Vice-Chair Benetti has dedicated 18 years to the district seeing multiple developmental stages. Dr. Pahls grew up on the south coast and is a pilot. Because of this, Commissioner Pahls understands how critical the airport is to the economy and commuters using the airport.
