The Southwest Oregon Regional Airport (OTH) reports no delays or operational impacts as national discussions continue regarding the potential reallocation of TSA personnel to larger airports experiencing long screening wait times.

While national-level conversations have focused on reallocating resources to high-volume airports, OTH has not been identified for any changes. At this time, there has been no indication from authorities that any airports in Oregon will be affected by these discussions.

Passengers traveling through OTH continue to experience a smooth and efficient screening process. Long TSA lines have not been an issue locally. TSA agents at OTH have continued to report for duty despite being impacted by the partial federal government shutdown. Their commitment has ensured consistent operations and a high level of service for travelers. Travelers are encouraged to allow extra time as a general precaution.

In support of these essential workers, the Coos County Airport District has provided gift cards for necessities and meals during its operating hours. The local community, including businesses such as Bandon Dunes and Penny Laine’s Gourmet Secrets, has also stepped forward to offer assistance.

Currently, the airport is operating flights to and from San Francisco four days per week, with daily service scheduled to resume Sunday,  March 29, 2026. Travel through OTH remains reliable and convenient, with the added benefit that passengers screened at OTH do not need to be rescreened at connecting airports if they remain in the secured area.

The airport’s Air Traffic Control Tower continues normal operations and is staffed by contracted personnel through Serco, remaining unaffected.

The Southwest Oregon Regional Airport will continue to monitor national developments while maintaining its commitment to safe, efficient, and dependable service.
