(North Bend, OR)  - Passengers flying out of the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport (OTH) in North Bend are expected to experience a faster, more convenient security process. TSA has officially ended the requirement for travelers to remove their shoes during screening at domestic airport checkpoints and those changes have gone into effect.

Oregon TSA officials confirmed the change, noting that it is part of a nationwide effort to modernize airport screening while maintaining the highest levels of security. Thanks to advanced screening technology and a multi-layered security approach, passengers will now be able to move through checkpoints more efficiently.

The change is expected to significantly reduce wait times and improve the overall travel experience for air travelers across the country— especially for families, seniors, and those with mobility concerns.

The end of the "Shoes-Off" policy follows several other TSA initiatives aimed at improving service, including the expansion of TSA PreCheck benefits for military members and families, and the continued implementation of REAL ID compliance, which has reached a 94% success rate nationwide.
